04SiC rod Ø25 · U type
SiC heating element 25 mm U type: two-leg silicon carbide rods
U-type SiC elements with 25 mm legs joined by a bridge, terminals on one side. The leg centre distance decides the replacement – we confirm it with you before anything is quoted.

Photos: typical elements of this type, not a specific order.
| OD | Leg diameter (25 mm on this page) |
|---|---|
| HZ | Hot zone length of each leg |
| CZ | Cold end length |
| A | Leg centre distance, centre to centre |
| R | Resistance or test value marked on the element |
What to send
- Part number, if readable
- OD, HZ, CZ and centre distance A
- Bridge type (round U or flat bridge)
- Resistance marking and how elements are connected
- How the element is mounted (from the roof, through the wall)
- Photo from the side next to a tape, both legs visible
Centre distance first
Two U elements with the same diameter can have different leg centre distances. If A is missing, it is the first thing we ask for.
Resistance matters as well when one element in a group is replaced: SiC element resistance: ageing and matching.

How we check this element
Send
The furnace model and a photo of the old element, or its part number. Dimensions if you can measure.
We check and confirm the spec
We check the dimensions and reply in writing with the size line we read, any missing value, and whether we can supply it.
You confirm the configuration
Size, number of elements per set and, for SiC rods, how they are grouped by resistance.
Production and shipping
Production and shipping are arranged for the confirmed configuration; the quote covers that element and quantity.
Questions buyers ask
Why does the centre distance matter so much?
The legs of a U element pass through holes or slots in the furnace roof or wall. Leg centre distance is measured centre to centre (a for MoSi2, A for SiC U rods), and it differs between furnaces even when the diameters are the same: a 6/12 element, for example, comes with different centre distances. A few millimetres decide whether the element goes in, so we always ask for it if it is missing.
How do I measure the centre distance A?
From the centre of one leg to the centre of the other, at the terminal end. If that is hard, measure the outside distance across both legs and the leg diameter, and tell us which one you measured.
Do SiC rods need to be matched by resistance?
Yes, for rods that run together. SiC resistance is specified hot (around 1000 °C), so a room-temperature multimeter reading says little; the value or test current marked on the old rod is the reference. Element handbooks commonly give ±5 % between rods in series and ±10 % in parallel, and recommend changing an aged group as a set. Tell us how your rods are connected; resistance grouping can be discussed in our reply.
How do I know the size is right?
Our reply states the size line we read from your part number, photos and dimensions, so you can compare it with the old element before you confirm anything.
