Shenpaz Sintra and Sintra Plus heating elements

The Sintra manual recommends new heating elements after 2,000 working hours above 500 °C and changing all three at once. It does not give their size. Send the furnace model, the hours on the counter and a photo of an old element next to a ruler.

Documents and listings: what they say

From the Sintra / Sintra Plus instruction manual [1] and two US dental suppliers’ listings [2][3].

TopicWhat the document says
Temperature range100 °C to 1650 °C [1].
Heating elementsThree per furnace. The manual does not name the material [1]; a US dental supplier lists them as U-shaped [2].
When to replaceShenpaz highly recommends exchanging the heating elements after 2,000 working hours of the furnace above 500 °C; the furnace has a counter showing hours of usage [1].
Set or singleTo maintain optimal heating uniformity, Shenpaz recommends replacing all 3 heating elements at the same time [1].
Who replacesA single person in a few minutes, or the Shenpaz dealer [1].
Before replacingMain power off, furnace unplugged, muffle completely cold. Tools: cross-head screwdriver, 4 mm hex key, 7 mm wrench [1].
HandlingThe elements are very fragile and may break under minimal force [1].
Maintenance firingEvery 2–3 weeks: heat at 3 °C per minute to 1600 °C and hold 4 hours, to regenerate and protect the heating elements [1].
Item numbersNot in the manual. A US dental supplier lists MFG034A as a single U-shaped element for Sintra Plus, Sintra Pro 90/120 and CS, and recommends replacing all 3 (4 for the 120) [2]. Argen describes its Sintra Pro 90 three-pack as usable in the older Sintra and Sintra Plus [3].

“Not published” means we did not find it in the documents listed under Sources; it may exist in service documents we have not seen.

Before you order

  • Read the hour counter: Shenpaz’s recommendation is based on working hours above 500 °C [1].
  • Plan for three: Shenpaz recommends changing all three elements together [1].
  • If only one element broke, tell us the hours on the counter – Shenpaz still recommends replacing all three together [1].
  • Measure the old elements on a flat surface without force: Shenpaz notes they are very fragile [1].

Keep the maintenance firing

Shenpaz’s manual asks for a firing every 2–3 weeks – 3 °C per minute to 1600 °C, 4 hours hold – to regenerate and protect the heating elements [1].

What to send for a Sintra / Sintra Plus

  1. Model (Sintra or Sintra Plus) and serial number
  2. Photo of the old element next to a ruler, both legs in the picture
  3. Diameters of heating zone and terminal, e.g. 4/9 or 3/6, if you can measure
  4. Heating length Le, terminal length Lu and leg spacing a
  5. Hours on the counter, and whether you replace all three
  6. Item number from the box or invoice, if you have one

One furnace name, several versions

Shenpaz gives the replacement interval and the set size, but not the element dimensions [1]. Supplier listings group the Sintra Plus with later models [2][3]; the old element shows which size you have.

Before any work: main power off, furnace unplugged, muffle completely cold, as the manual requires [1]. Other furnaces: dental furnace models.

How the furnace-model check works

  1. Send

The furnace model and a photo of the old element, or its part number. Dimensions if you can measure.

  2. We check and confirm the spec

We check the dimensions and reply in writing with the size line we read, any missing value, and whether we can supply it.

  3. You confirm the configuration

Size, number of elements per set and, for SiC rods, how they are grouped by resistance.

  4. Production and shipping

Production and shipping are arranged for the confirmed configuration; the quote covers that element and quantity.

Questions buyers ask

How often should Sintra heating elements be replaced?

The manual highly recommends exchanging them after 2,000 working hours of the furnace above 500 °C; the furnace counter shows the hours [1].

Do I have to replace all three?

Shenpaz recommends replacing all 3 heating elements at the same time to maintain optimal heating uniformity [1]. Tell us if you plan otherwise, and how many hours the furnace has.

What is MFG034A?

An item number a US dental supplier lists for a single U-shaped heating element for the Sintra Plus, Sintra Pro 90/120 and CS [2]. It is not in the Shenpaz manual we read, so we go by the old element rather than by this number.

Are these Shenpaz original parts?

No. PMEXO is an independent supplier of replacement heating elements and is not affiliated with Shenpaz.
